I need the flexibility to upload and download information to my office PC via USB connection and so on. What I am trying to say that the Ipad is a great device that offers entertainment features such as pictures, video, music and games, however it left behind all the other users where their main use of computers are tasks other than for entertainment.

I don’t believe the Ipad’s main objective is to replace notebooks, even though many of us who are complaining that is what we want, an Ipad like machine that does replace notebooks.

I wonder if we'll see pro coaches uses them on the sidelines to draw their X's & O's or to review plays.

The Ipad is nice and has some unique features, but it does not target business owners. Surfing the web is great, however as business owner I need to use accounting programs such Peachtree or QuickBooks, other programs such as Excel, Photoshop, windows live mail or outlook, I need the flexibility to upload and download information to my office PC via USB connection and so on. What I am trying to say that the Ipad is a great device that offers entertainment features such as pictures, video, music and games, however it left behind all the other users where their main use of computers are tasks other than for entertainment. I don’t believe the Ipad's main objective is to replace notebooks, even though many of us who are complaining that is what we want, an Ipad like machine that does replace notebooks. Since my need of notebook is more for daily task and work related, purchasing the Ipad will not make any sense to me.

I just bought a new Mac Book Pro (13 in, 2.26 Ghz, 4 GB RAM) because I needed Ethernet, USB, and a keyboard for mobile computing and do not want to depend on "cloud" apps.

But I am now looking at the iPad and iPhone more closely for mobile use. At the Embedded Systems Computing confab in San Jose my laptop felt heavy and did not get used very much. But an iPad with its touchscreen keyboard is not very ergonomic for those of us with repetitive stress injuries/carpal tunnel syndrome.if the iPad had additional connectivity options (like FW, Enet) and an ergo folding keyboard were available, I would get one in a heartbeat.

I have to admit I am a true mac lover. Therefore I feel as though I would like to own an ipad. But I really do not see the benefits of it over a netbook or even the 13in macbook. As an ereader is really the only real advantage. It has the touch screen capabilities, but then so does hp touchsmart. And I'm sure that Apple will integrate the touch screen into their computers on the next go around. As for the price I think it is outrageous, For 16gb $500 is way to much. I might add that I do not own a ipod touch either, $200 for an 8gb. I believe it will drop sharply in a year and be about $350 for the ipad.
