GREEN Environment
IOGEAR believes a “GREEN” environment is an environment that eliminates health hazards and minimizes the impact on our natural resources. IOGEAR also believes in an environment that is fun, innovative, healthy, and practical that enhances our everyday lives.

To us, GREEN means having a fun environment by manufacturing products that are simple and enjoyable to use. We believe that our innovative products can, and should, be functional as well beautiful. IOGEAR strives to offer a practical environment by giving you the freedom to share resources and devices among your computers.

GREEN Energy
IOGEAR actively conserves energy through our technology and innovation. Our core product, the KVM Switch, reduces energy consumption by eliminating the use of multiple computer monitors. In 2008, IOGEAR will strive to achieve 100% Energy Star compliance for all our products.

GREEN Manufacturing
IOGEAR’s priority is to use environmentally friendly materials whenever applicable. In our commitment to GREEN, IOGEAR continues to work with industry suppliers to research new ways to restrict the use of environmentally harmful materials in our products. By 2009, all IOGEAR products will be 100% PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and BFR (brominated flame retardant) FREE. As part of our ongoing commitment to GREEN, we will focus our energy to reduce harmful effects on the environment by going above and beyond current environmental compliance standards and regulations.

GREEN Recycling
IOGEAR realizes that by adapting our product packaging we can reduce waste and beneficially impact our environment. By 2008, all IOGEAR product packaging will utilize recyclable post-consumer materials and will be biodegradable. When transparent retail packaging is required, we will use biodegradable, vegetable-based plastics. Each package will use paper made of over fifty percent post-consumed materials. IOGEAR will also transition from traditional ink to soy-based ink and utilize an eco-friendly single-piece corrugated cardboard material for product displays instead of recyclable plastic trays.

ACHIEVEMENTS

2005	All IOGEAR products are RoHS and WEEE compliant. IOGEAR reduced the use of hazardous metals and substances in our products like Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polubrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).
2006	IOGEAR sold its 3.2 millionth KVM switch. This achievement saved 28.8 million keyboards, mice, and monitors from filling a landfill 165 feet high and the size of a baseball stadium’s playing field.
2007	All IOGEAR products are 93% PVC (polyvinyl chrolide) and 92% BFR (brominated flame retardants) FREE. IOGEAR eliminates 22% of paper produced product/user manuals included in product packaging.

GOALS

2008

All IOGEAR product packaging is 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Our packaging contains all recyclable materials, plastic without UV coating, and soy-based packaging ink. All IOGEAR products are 95% PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and BFR (brominated flame retardants) FREE. All IOGEAR products are 100% Energy Star Compliant. All marketing collateral (catalogs, business cards, and brochures) are printed on 100% recycled material. 100% IOGEAR packaging has “GREEN” educational inserts.

2009

All IOGEAR products are 100% PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and BFR (brominated flame retardants) FREE. 100% of IOGEAR’s product packaging includes ECO-Labeling. IOGEAR eliminates 45% of paper produced product/user manuals included in product packaging.
