IOGEAR Launches Industry’s Shortest Wi-Fi 802.11g Notebook Network Card

Allows users to leave Wi-Fi access card in laptops for easy networking

Irvine, CA – May 3, 2004 – Mobile professionals are now free from having to insert and remove a notebook network card each time they want to work wirelessly, with IOGEAR’s new Wireless-G Notebook Network Card.
The 802.11g card’s compact antenna board design appears to be almost invisible to laptop users when plugged into a PC’s CardBus slot. This makes it very attractive for road warriors who may now leave their Wi-Fi card inside a notebook when traveling. The Card provides access for Internet surfing, networking, file-sharing and printing in any home or office equipped with 802.11g access.
The device comes with built-in, advanced security features for safe networking. It is priced at $49.95 (MSRP) and is available immediately from all major catalog resellers, online resellers and selected retail outlets.
“The purpose of mobile computing is to make staying connected from any location more convenient. Having to remove a Wi-Fi network card each time users pack up their notebooks is a nuisance,” said Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR Inc. “In order to simplify Wi-Fi connectivity, IOGEAR shrunk the design of its CardBus card so it can remain plugged in at all times. This makes it just one less tool to pack when computing on the go.”
IOGEAR’s Wireless-G Notebook Network Card is PC compatible and operates on Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP systems. It comes with IOGEAR’s standard three-year warranty.
