Mac Verse PC

Mac Verse PC

Recently in the office we were trying out some new products and I automatically reached for the Mac, after a few comments about PC and Mac I decided that I needed to do some more research so next time this argument comes up I have more backing because just saying "Mac is better" clearly did not win me the argument. I scavenged so many sites about pros and cons and of course the typical ecosystem argument comes up, which I have to say is a huge reason I always go for Apple products, but before my entire room looked like I just left the Apple store I did use PC's, I mean really what changed my mind, was it the awesome marketing or was it really the software and hardware of the products... I don't know, jury is still out on that but let's get to the nitty gritty of pros and cons of these items!

  • Mac Pros:
  • Mac focuses more on user interface making it a better experience for the user
  • Mac has fewer viruses and security issues in general
  • Mac offers straightforward approach to computing which leads to less maintenance tasks
  • iPhones and iPads traditionally work better with a Mac
  • Macs have a UNIX-like experience
  • PC Pros:
  • Windows PC's have a lot more flexibility and customization in regards to software and hardware
  • Windows has more software available than any other platform
  • Windows is great for backwards compatibility
  • Gaming experience hands down wins on a PC

So where does this chart leave us? It really depends what your goals are for the computer and tasks you want to accomplish. Both computers are great for graphic design, but if you are more comfortable on one or the either, go with that. There really is no right or wrong answer (Well kind of… I still vote Mac) so go with what you want!
