Irvine, CA – July 12, 2004 – IOGEAR has combined computer storage and backup equipment in one device with the launch of its new 3.5” Combo ION Drive with Tri-Select technology, which enables automatic backup based on users’ settings. The external device allows consumers to store and protect important documents, as well as audio, video and other media files in one compact enclosure. The ION Drive offers both FireWire 400 and USB 2.0 compatibility and extremely high data transfer rates of up to 400 Mbps (FireWire) and 480 Mbps (USB 2.0). Tri-Select backup technology allows multiple types of backup settings to be designed for computers. Once the Tri-Select button has been set up, it will automatically backup a single file or an entire directory as programmed. Compatible with both PC and Mac platforms, the drive provides a corporate-level storage and backup solution at a cost consumers can afford. Depending on the size of the hard drive, the products will vary in price for the 80GB and 250GB versions. Users can also purchase a drive enclosure from IOGEAR.
