FOOHILL RANCH, Calif. – September 4, 2013 – IOGEAR has recently launched the NetShair Link, a new adaptable portable router and media server for mobile devices. The NetShair Link (GWRH1; MSRP: $59.95) brings together the popular features of a portable router plus media sharing with free iOS and Android app support. The NetShair app is available from the Apple App StoreSM or Google Play StoreTM.
The NetShair Link provides power and convenience for on-the-go individuals in hotels, conference centers or other locations, as well as connectivity for daily use in apartments and small homes. It features an improved 802.11n 150Mbps performance and boasts Wi-Fi speeds more than twice as fast as competitive products, for quicker page loading and a better overall Wi-Fi experience.

To use the NetShair Link, users plug the device directly into the wall and connect to the room’s existing Ethernet cable. By launching the free NetShair app on an iOS or Android device or by opening the Internet browser, Wi-Fi-enabled laptops, tablets or smartphones connect to the NetShair Link, which acts as a DHCP server, giving local Internet addresses to connected devices. Once connected, users can surf online or stream a personal media library using the built-in media server.
By plugging a USB flash drive or external hard drive into the NetShair Link, it becomes a personal media hub, enabling individuals to share movies, music, photos and files to up to seven mobile devices over Wi-Fi. NetShair Link is compatible with both PC and Mac formatted storage, so users can simply grab their external drive full of content and take it with them.
The NetShair Link supports the WEP, WPA and WPA2 security standards with programmable passwords for secure browsing across more than 10 devices at once, depending on the source. The NetShair Link measures 3.15 by 1.89 inches and weighs just 4 ounces, fitting easily into a briefcase, pocket or purse.
