IOGEAR Increases Computing Reach with KVM Extenders ~ Allows access to computers or KVM switches from up to 500 feet away [08-25-2003]

IOGEAR continues to make remote access computing easier and more cost-effective with the launch of its USB and PS/2 KVM Console Extenders. IOGEAR’s KVM Extenders allow network managers to move KVM consoles away from the local computer in noisy server rooms to a more comfortable working environment. Users are able to control a system from the local and remote keyboards, monitors and mice, with the push of a button. Small and home office workers can access a computer or KVM switch from a remote console up to 500 feet away by using inexpensive CAT5e cabling versus expensive, bulky coaxial cabling. “Users often need access to an additional computer system or KVM switch, but they are forced to lug around bulky wires or cables to different rooms in order to work from another computer,” said Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR, Inc. “With KVM extenders, IT managers and home office users are able to work from their desk rather than the server room, which can become very hot and loud.” Users can access computers remotely by just plugging in the extenders, avoiding lengthy software installation. The extenders are priced at $299.95 (MSRP) for the USB version and $249.95 (MSRP) for the PS/2 version. Both are available immediately from all major catalog resellers, online resellers and selected retail outlets. For further information on any of IOGEAR’s products, please visit www.iogear.com.
