IOGEAR Jumps Into Wi-Fi Arena With Dual-Purpose Device~ Launches world’s first Wi-Fi router and print server solution [11-12-2003]

IOGEAR, the connectivity and peripheral specialist, has introduced its Wireless-G Broadband Gateway that allows users to surf the Internet, share files and print wirelessly. The innovative router is the first wireless product to be introduced in IOGEAR’s new family of Wi-Fi devices. As the pioneer 802.11g router with an embedded print server, the 4-port device allows small and home offices to network computers and share a USB printer wirelessly. IOGEAR provides an easy-to-use, Web-based installation wizard that guides users through configuration and setup in minutes. Equipped with Firewall and wireless security packages, IOGEAR ensures users’ networks are kept safe. The product is priced at $129.95 (MSRP) and is available immediately from all major catalog resellers, online resellers and selected retail outlets. “As mobile workforces expand, many small and home offices are moving towards a wireless computing environment. Companies are looking for the most cost-effective, reliable way to be connected wirelessly,” said Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR Inc. “IOGEAR’s Wireless-G Broadband Gateway allows cable-free access and printing all in one compact box. This provides the SOHO community with the connectivity and security of larger companies, but without the expensive price tag.” IOGEAR’s router with print server is PC and Mac compatible and functions on Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and Mac OS 9.2 and above. The Wireless-G Broadband Gateway comes with a manual CD for setup, quick start guide, power adapter and Ethernet cable. It also comes with IOGEAR’s standard three-year warranty.
