IOGEAR Introduces Industry’s First KVMP Switch With Bundled USB 2.0, Audio And Ethernet Capabilities [08-29-2005]

Adds another innovative product to its KVM line

Irvine, CA – August 29, 2005 – Consumers are now able to create and run a network of three or more computers from a single keyboard, mouse and monitor at accelerated USB 2.0 transfer speeds, with IOGEAR’s new USB 2.0 MiniView Symphony Multi-Function KVMP Switch. The product includes a full-feature, built-in Ethernet 10/100 switch, which allows computers to network and share Internet connections. Users can connect up to three workstations to a two-port, and five to a four-port KVMP switch, enabling superior communication between computers. The audio ports on the product allow consumers to connect one set of speakers and a microphone, and share them among all units. The USB 2.0 ports accelerate data transfer speeds up to 480 Mbps. In addition, users can alternate between various systems without interrupting audio or peripherals plugged into the USB 2.0 ports, with the product’s independent switching feature. For example, a music or movie file download can be initiated on one computer, while the user can shift to another system without interrupting or stopping the file download. “As consumers continue to purchase new computers for their homes, they often wonder what to do with old systems,” said Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR Inc. “By deploying the industry’s first and only multimedia KVMP switch that incorporates audio, networking and USB 2.0 capabilities, IOGEAR provides a perfect solution and continues to maintain a leadership position in this rapidly growing market.” IOGEAR’s MiniView Symphony KVMP Switch is priced at $249.95 (two-port) and $349.95 (four-port) (MSRP), and is available immediately from all major catalog resellers, online resellers and selected retail outlets. The product comes with IOGEAR’s standard three-year warranty. The MiniView Symphony KVMP Switch is hot pluggable, fully compliant with USB 2.0 specifications, and compatible with PC, Mac and Sun operating platforms. The packaging includes two six-foot cables. The product supports auto-sensing, 10/100 Mbps speeds and is fully compliant with the 802.3 networking standard. For further information on IOGEAR products, please visit www.iogear.com.
